'Gun Girl' Kaitlin Bennett's appearance on Ohio University campus sparks protests
Conservative activist Kaitlin Bennett, also known as "Gun Girl," incited large-scale student protests Monday when she appeared on Ohio University's Athens campus to film a video.
Bennett had arrived on campus to film a President's Day trivia video for the Liberty Hangout, which bills itself as a libertarian media outlet, according to both her and the site. Bennett has been a divisive figure since gaining notoriety in 2018 for posting controversial graduation photos of herself with an AR-10 rifle at Kent State University.

In the heat of Birds of Prey 's climactic face-off, antiheroine Harley Quinn tosses her temporary teammate Black Canary a hair tie, so Canary can pull her hair out of her eyes and continue to kick ass. The mid-fight-scene flourish feels like a huge departure from the cyclical tropes that have complicated modern superheroine movies.
American audiences rarely see female superheroes like this — ones with agency, well-founded relationships with each other, and good reasons to fight. It's even rarer for these characters to come together in groups. Wendy's mascot may look sweet, but on Twitter she's a mean girl - The Washington Post
But the fast-food chain's tweets, accompanied by an image of her grinning face, are anything but. And lately, the burger purveyor's snark is reaching triple-stack levels — and its trolling of competitors is colder than a Frosty shake.
On Tuesday, Wendy's responded with an insult to a tweet of a news story about a new Burger King sandwich, available in New Zealand, that features fries in place of the usual burger patty. "When literally anything would be better on a bun than their beef," the chain wrote.
