Diversity and inclusion have become huge gaming discussions in the past decade, and with good reason. More people are playing, talking about, and making games than ever before, and everyone has strong feelings about what they're playing, or if they're able to play at all. And, of course, those discussions comes with their own backlash .
The frustrating thing is that discussions about disabled representation in games often feel like an afterthought, compared to other axes of marginalization. It's much more common to talk about whether or not games are playable by those with disabilities than what the content in the games themselves say or imply about disabled individuals. But both conversations are just as important.

Best Video Games of the Decade, Part One: Favorite Video Games | Third Coast Review
When I sat down at the end of 2019 to compile my "best of" the decade list, it ended up being a massive undertaking, and it turned into a larger project than I had anticipated. I had a really hard time with the list I made. It had been whittled down from 180 titles, spanning 2010-2019. I was aiming for twenty or less, but even then, there were titles I personally wanted to include, but didn't feel like they objectively merited being in the best of the decade.
So for my compromise, I'll compile two lists. First list (Part One) would be my five favorite games of the decade. These would be five games that were the most important to me over the decade.

For many, they picked up Bases Loaded, the original Nintendo video game that was the first to look like modern games. I started with MLBPA Baseball released in 1994, so while there's nothing special about the game, it holds a unique place in my heart.
But for all the warm and fuzzy memories people may have, those are not the best games ever made. Today we are going to determine, with 100 percent accuracy, which is the best one ever created.
