Norway’s ‘UFO’ concept grounded by Directorate – Fish Farmer Magazine

A FUTURISTIC looking salmon farming project known as OceanTech has been refused development licences by Norway's Directorate of Fisheries.

The joint venture between Wenberg Fish Farming and marine technology supplier Technip FMC, first submitted in November 2017, was for a large scale production closed cage facility at Salten, in the Nordland region of Norway.

Wenberg had applied for ten permits, to be developed over a six-year period. The directorate and the developers have held several meetings and a number of changes were made to the original application.

This flying saucer is one man’s vacation home | Q13 FOX News

The harvest-gold flying saucer perched on a rocky ledge high above Idyllwild, California, is a Futuro house. It's also Milford Wayne Donaldson's 520-square foot vacation home.

Built in 1969, the plastic prefabricated home offers a glimpse into the optimism of its time, when space was a new, exciting frontier and people believed that new technologies could solve the world's problems.

First designed by Finnish architect Matti Suuronen as a ski chalet, the idea behind the Futuro was to create a lightweight home that could be placed in a variety of landscapes. Futuros were initially manufactured in Finland, then licensed to companies worldwide. As many as 100 Futuros were built between 1968 and 1978, according to The Futuro House , a site documenting the history and whereabouts of the homes. Only 67 remain, with 20 in the United States.

Multiple Russia UFO sightings were actually military ICBM test launch | Metro News

Skywatchers in Russia have been reporting sights of a bizarre 'shuttlecock-shaped' UFO flashing through the night.

* * *

Social media across several time zones in Russia and also Kazakhstan was buzzing with awe-inspiring images of the mysterious object as it streaked overhead in the early evening.

Later it became clear that the UFO was not aliens or a lump of space rock but a test launch of a Topol-M intercontinental ballistic rocket by Vladimir Putin's strategic missile forces.

Norman Baker: the UFO-obsessed minister who's resigned to spend more time with his rock band |

I can sympathise with that. Indeed. Arch-Tory meets left-leaning Lib Dem noted for his terrier-like pursuit of subjects close to his heart was never going to be a marriage made in heaven.

Will he now be spending more time with his family? No, worryingly, with his pop group The Reform Club. He's the lyricist and lead singer.

What a terrible name for a band. Could be worse. It might have been called the Athenaeum, or Boodle's, or The Garrick, or The Royal Anglo-Belgian Club, or ...
